How Will The School Decide If My Child Needs Extra Support?
The school will decide if your child needs extra support based on formal and informal methods. These will include:
Adult observations over a period of time (by the class teacher and teaching assistants);
Monitoring data (collected and analysed every half term);
Pupil discussions - do they find something challenging? (This could be academic, communication, social, emotional, behavioural or physical);
Parent discussions (as detailed in the previous question).
